Hi again Hans,

I've one little question. Is there ability to use in Item Text html tag? Why am I asking about this - I want to put before each item little well styled input form. This input will contain order sequence. You know, I build gr8 tree menu alphabetically ordered, but I would like to add choice for users to write number for each menu item and set order to each item.

HTML-Tags in items

Hello Mr. Inkognito,

yes, you can use html-tags within your items. But if you want to sort your items based upon any user-given input (when including an input-form within your items) you will have to do the sorting (that means the sequence of your defined items) according to your individual sort criterions by coding that inside your tree-frame or by referring an external script. To rearrange your tree, you will have to create a new tree using your individual sorting order and to overwrite your old TreeMenu. To get more informations about javascript-coding, i recommend you having a look to http://www.selfhtml.org.

Thank you for using TreeMenu and don't hesitate to ask again on new questions.

Did this clearification help you?

Yours

Hi Hans,

I looked at that page, but I finally decide to use "order system" in another place... it looks better, because input forms by the items in menu degrades nice design.

But I've one little question - if I want to use your menu (sample 1 - block style), and use seo ready linking, it runs a little bad. I know that your gr8 menu save opened directories into cookie, it's cool, but I think it remembers also url, and you know, if I got for example mainpage with this tree (afer name is link in () ):
Monitors (http://url/monitors/)
- LCD (http://url/monitors/lcd/)
-- 15" (http://url/monitors/lcd/15/)
-- 17" (http://url/monitors/lcd/17/)
- CRT (http://url/monitors/crt/)
-- 15" (http://url/monitors/crt/15/)
-- 17" (http://url/monitors/crt/17/)

And if I'm clicking in this menu on "+" and "-", it works great, but if I click for example to the item name, I get into for example http://url/monitors/ but menu "forget" its opened status. Yes, it's correct, because this is new url, but is there any chance to put into cookies value for http://url/ and for all folders under this? I hope you know what I thinking.
If I'm linkink for example http://url/?page=monitors or http://url/?page=monitors/lcd/ it's working fine, because I'm still in the same web folder...

Cannot follow

Dear Mr Inkognito,

if a item owning a subtree also includes a link, the link will be followed and also the subtree may be toggled - usually depending on the tree-level of this item and the show configuration of your tree. This is done to prevent the tree from getting unusable for some abnormal settings - fail safe. I recommend to clearly structure menu-trees to avoid such double-actions also because of not confusing your visitors. But maybe I'm wrong and was not able to follow your description, because the links you provided cannot be used from an outstanding position. Could you please provide working links or send me an example?

Thanks
