After completion the walkway bridge was found to be oscillation susceptible. An expertise was demanded to find the cause of this oscillation susceptibility and to get a basis for later reinforcements.

What we did

We calculated the natural frequencies of the walkway bridge using the fe-program ansys and compared them with the frequencies usually induced by pedestrians.
