The temporary roof is extremely lightweight and flexible in the usage. Because of the easy assembly due to plug-only connections it is best suited for mobile roofing and weather protection for building sites. It allows span widths up to 27,1m and installation heights up to 100m. For higher vertical loads a tie can be used to increase the span. The shelter can be used upon scaffolds which are building the side walls of the housing.
For the shelter we did the statical calculation, verified the lateral stabilization and optimized the verifications for the details. So we were able to determine the maximum span widths depending on snow and wind loads. The verifications for the details were led utilizing all plastic resources of all involved components. To verify the calculational limit load and the plastic strains of the system a real shelter was tested until collapse. With this test the calculational assumptions could be approved and the base for the calculation could be increased from the yield stress to the reduced ultimate stress of the material.
